CRESCENT ROLL APPLE DUMPLINGS

Serve these warm from the oven and everyone will want the recipe!

1 cup butter or margarine, melted

1-1/4 cups sugar

1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

2 cans, 10 oz each, crescent rolls, not low fat

2 large Granny Smith apples

12 oz. Mountain Dew, room temperature

Preheat oven to 350. Mix butter, sugar and cinnamon and pour into a sprayed 9x13 pan. Core and peel apples. Cut each apple into 8 wedges. Separate crescent rolls along the perforated seams, wrap apple slice in crescent roll wedge, carefully covering the entire apple. Pinch openings to close securely. Put into pan on top of mixture. Pour the soda over the dumplings and bake 35-40 minutes until golden. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
